This Blog is not Woke

Just being totally clear, people.

Wandering the realms of half-baked blogs on Substack in search of things to read, I eventually realized that one of the first things I wanted to know about a blog was that it wasn’t woke. Without this reassurance, there is no way I will read your blog.

Now there is a skill you can develop from scrolling through posts with unfamiliar titles. Mastering this skill means that, before long, you can usually get a good idea of whether a blog is woke. But I want to make things easy and straightforward for all of my readers here at Things To Read, so:

This is Not a Woke Blog.

No virtue signalling, no “current year,” no social-justice-warrior-adjacent postmodernism at Things to Read. If you’re not happy about this, no problem: you can go find some safe space to shiver in. Or if you’re feeling brave, you can try posting an argument or a complaint right here; I welcome comments from anybody who is civil and writes reasonably well. But good luck trying to convince me your wokeness makes any sense.
